I have had a good experience so far. Staff are pretty responsive when I need to contact them. When I needed a maintenance guy he came pretty good time frame and assisted us the best way he could when it was midnight.
It has been a fun time during my 3 years at the retreat. The gym, basketball court, pool, and sauna are all things that have helped make my stay an enjoyable one.
Location is nice along with a lot of great features. Although things aren't always working like the gates I believe that it is a bit too overpriced. With constantly having to pester the staff in order to get things done like working key for a room it does not seem that I should be paying this much.
My location is ideal, not only is the overall location ideal for a UofL student, but i’m located right by the walking bridge which is so convenient. The gym has everything you need including a full basketball court. I can’t wait for summer for the pool to be open again!
It takes a very long time to get a response rom maintenance after filing a request but other than that it has been a very nice place to live
Great housing. Good experience. I really like living here. Parking is good. The facilities are nice. Everyone is friendly. Pet friendly. Would recommend.
Love the neighborhood vibe and all of the amenities are great! I also love how there are always rewards just for living here! It’s overall a great place to live!
I love living here! It makes me feel like I have a home away from home! It’s close to campus so walking to class isn’t hard. And I get to take relaxing baths or make a home cooked meal on stressful days.
I have lived her for about a year and a half now. I enjoy how close it is to campus and I love that I could enjoy having my fur baby with me too!
The retreat is a great living area with many opportunities to gain from. The bark park, the pool, gym, but especially the sauna are all my favorite!
I like it at the retreat. My room, closet, and bathroom have plenty of space. My Livingroom also has good accommodations. I like the community of people around me too. I wish there were fewer speed bumps though.
Living at the retreat is a really great place to live for college. The amenities are great. I think the last two years though the service has gone down. Switching owner groups and employees has made it difficult to figure certain items out.
i like living here a lot. The pool is really nice to have during the summer and the front desk workers are nice. I also like that you are allowed to have pets
My resident experience has been pretty good over the last two years. Maintenance requests could be improved, but overall I have enjoyed my time living here.
The retreat always has the things I need and are very good with responding to maintenance calls! I love living here! They are always thinking of new ways to improve the community.
Absolutely love it! I live in a 5br house which is very spacious and can accommodate a lot of people. Modern interior with a nice country feel on the outside
Love this community and all it offers! Thankful fo a place to sleep at night and a roof over my head. Wouldn’t change my decision to live here.
Umm I have not been a fan of my experience here so far. The rent is too high, I have to pay service fees for everything that I pay for, the apartment is not that nice, my neighbors are bad (and I have reported them but nothing happened), there is dog poop all in the backyard. Our apartment building is not worth $2000+ total in rent. 650 each is too expensive for something that has bad insulation, shotty air and heat systems, and other cosmetic damages that were present before move in. Will not be returning.
My experience has been very good. The front desk workers are always available to help with anything needed. As well, the maintenance workers are great and very fast to the job! I love living at the Retreat!!
I like the ability to keep my dog here and not feel like she is cramped in a tiny apartment. I also like how close it is to campus and everything else in Louisville
The place is fine. The staff onsite is pretty good. The management is the worst. They're increasing premiums and overall rent while not letting us do 10 month leases anymore without playing a completely unreasonable price. If you try to talk to the staff here about it, they just say it's out of their control and don't even seem sorry for you or interested at all in keeping you here since you have to find a new place to live that you can afford.
The best! I absolutely love it here it is the best location and all of the stuff is super nice! Everything is so close by and the amenities are amazing!
I actually love it here . Very nice neighborhood, I feel safe! I feel like I’m living in the suburbs lol. My roommate is perfect too. I’m a clean freak and she’s the same! So it works out well. I was kind of nervous about having a roommate, I’d rather live alone but we barely even see eachother so that’s good! She works and goes to school and I work night shift. I love how these units look more like houses than ya kno, rooms or apartments. Compared to the Bellamy and the province, I’m glad I’ve chosen the retreat. I wish I had a balcony though! Lol. It’s neat how you all have them. The bus for UPS comes directly in front of the neighborhood too, that’s very convenient for me. These next 9 months are gonna be good. Thankyou all for excepting me! (:
Overall, the Retreat is one of the best housing options for the university. I enjoy living here. The only complaint I have is the noise. However, that may depend where u live.
The retreat is an awesome place for student housing!! The location is very convenient to campus. It is very safe and secure. The amenities are all very nice!
The Retreat Louisville has been a wonderful place to live so far! Front office could be slightly more on-top of situations but other than that, great community!
I have really enjoyed living here. I love how nice the houses are and I appreciate all the amenities that are included, especially our own bathrooms. I personally love how unique the style of house is that I am living in! Also, the staff are super kind and always friendly when you are in the office.
I love living here! It’s the best place to live out of all the off campus options. There is plenty of space for my dog to run and my room is huge!!
Maintenance hasn’t done much whenever we ask. Some of my roommates are sensitive to dust and we can tell the air filters are bad and they haven’t done anything about it.
the Retreat is too expensive. Our bathroom in our house doesn’t work and we have asked for it to be fixed 4 times. I like the fact that I have my own bathroom
I love it here in The Retreat at Louisville! I especially love all the amenities this place has to offer, like the gym, sauna, pool, free printing, and cable. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else!
So far my experience at the Retreat has been great. I've been enjoying the unit that I am in and all the amenities that it comes with. Would like if the maintenance would come a bit faster.
Clubhouse is great. Staff is friendly and nice. A good place to live if your an undergrad who wants to be close to campus and live near a bunch of other undergrads
Our maintenance requests are not being complete and I had to do things around the house that should have been done before we moved in. Other than that the place is amazing and we love living there.
The Retreat has housing that is so great is regards to space. With five closets of storage in communal spaces as well as a walk in closet, I have never had any issue in that regard. Never an issue parking either. Location to campus is not the most convenient out of the affiliated properties, but still close enough to walk. Noise level on weekends is not great but is to be expected. Overall great place to live.
My move in experience was pretty easy. This is now my third year at the Retreat, and my roommates and I love it! One thing that we do find to be a little bit frustrating is the gate situation and the issues that they seem to constantly have. Other than that, place is sick.
I only live here because Sophia. She needs a raise. If Sophia keeps working here she needs to make like 20$ an hour or more because the is the Goat
it is a great pace to live, but they have lowered their quality of service and the amenities are not getting maintained. Besides that, the neighborhood is the best one on campus to live.
So far so good! All the staff are nice and do their best to help out with whatever you need. I haven't needed a maintenance request yet, but the maintenance staff are always nearby.
I would give five if the gates were working properly. I chose the retreat because of their gated community. They rave about having a gated community but one is at least always open.
Quick on any issues and understanding. A nice place to live and enjoy. Only issue that should be addressed is the gates break down often but there are multiple gates so it's not a real issue
Cottage was not very clean when we moved in. Love the amount of space. Don't like dealing with the people around us who party all the time and make excessive noise.
I love living at the retreat where I can feel independent, learn to adult, but still feel safe in university affiliated housing! I would recommend living at the retreat to anyone and everyone!
The community of people is really nice, but the maintenance is really slow, there is always a gate broken at an entrance and the green area always has dog poop in it
The retreat has been very comfortable so far and the staff is excellent. They answer questions and make you feel attended too. Maintenance staff are great as well I just think they may be a bit understaffed on that side.
The Retreat at Louisville is a convenient place to live as it is close to campus and has a lot of nice amenities. It is also a generally safe and protected area to live off campus.
i have loved living at the retreat. the houses are great even though the first floor bedroom is smaller than the others and the bathrooms are cramped it’s great for a college house. i wish they weren’t as pricey.
Great place to live! Very nice home and community. The only complaint I have so far is the walk to campus is a bit long but it is well worth it for the housing.
Living here has been a great experience. It's an incredibly nice community and the staff is awesome. The location is convenient and the amenities offered are great!
So far so good! Maintenance has been fast and helpful and so has the desk staff, very pet friendly which is nice for my cat and i, we can’t wait for the rest of the year!
I love the houses, environment. Just wish some things didnt take so long like maintenance, fixing the gates, receiving gift cards and etc. Rent is really expensive here so I want to get what i pay for.
Living at the Retreat has been amazing!! I feel so content living in a safe, student community. My house is very nice and spacious, and I love my roommates. 5/5 stars for the retreat!!
Love living here! Great grounds, friendly people, and a ton of amenities for residents. Would highly recommend to my friends. Love the valet trash and food nights!
There is room for improvement but I am fairly happy with what i have experienced so far! I love the location of the community and what they have to offer
I am so happy I chose to live at the Retreat. The cleanliness and amount of amenities is unbeatable. I don't know if I will ever go back to regular housing after this.
Really nice neighborhood to live in for campus affiliated housing. Gates don’t always work and they weren’t letting guests at the pool which was sad. But there is an awesome dog park and they remember you at the office which is really personable. 4/5 pretty great!
I thoroughly enjoy living at the Retreat. The cottages are very nice but my favorite part about this community is the landscaping. Our grounds staff is amazing and does a wonderful job!
I love the retreat the only issue I have is that I feel unsafe with the front gate being broken for so long. I like the idea of living in a gated community which is mainly why I live here so I would like that to be fixed as soon as possible.
I like the Retreat at Louisville for the space it provides, the amenities (especially the pool area), and the individual bedroom and bathroom. The heating and air however is somewhat inconsistent and the hot water is almost non-existant. I still enjoy the apartment though and I like that it is pet friendly.
I love it here. The trash valet service is the best part. It’s so convenient. I also love the office staff and how everyone is so nice. This is a great place
The community at The Retreat is great! The apartment itself is a nice space, and it creates a feel of having your own space but also being part of a community.
Love the size of my closet and room. Also our common areas are HUGE. The provided furniture is nice and I never have parking issues near my place. The negatives for me are the parties on the weekends with people who don’t live here and who leave trash everywhere and the random 10-15 minute power outages.
Great service. Very clean when I first moved in. Workers at the leasing office were very friendly and helpful. Great pricing and a clean place to make you feel at home!
The community is great but the apartment has had some issues since moving in. For example the power has gone out 2 times and the WiFi has been down 5 times, once for nearly 2 days straight
The internet has gone out 3 times since I moved in two months ago, sometimes lasting a day. Power has gone out a few times as well. The maintenance person walked right into my roommates room while he was sleeping without knocking on his door. The place looks nice when there isn't trash everywhere. I know it's on the residents but the beer cans and other trash is everywhere all the time. Parking is free so that's cool.
I wish I could get more updates on maintenance, and that the gates were working more. I like the community, nothing you can do I wish people would pick up their dogs poop haha
I love having a place that I can go home and not feel like I’m still on campus but still stay close! It’s a great place to live and spend time with friends
Overall great experience and environment to live in while getting through college here at the University of Louisville. Friendly staff as well.
I think this place is amazing! I feel like I’m at a 5 star hotel in Hollywood! The pool is beautiful and I love the gym. I have gym anxiety so being able to go to a nice friendly one in my community helps a lot !
I have loved living here so far! You definitely get what you pay for. Very nice houses with awesome set ups! Maintenance requests are fixed in an extremely timely manner as well, and the office always answers questions and gets back with you ASAP.
ok mate you want 140 character ill give you 140 characters. I'll do a lil biography about me then eh. I was born in the woods with thee ole gophers and learned how to tunnel through the grounds.
Excellent! Love the amenities and how quickly they respond to maintenance requests. I have recommended the retreat to every single person I know.
The amenities and actual houses are nice. The staff is usually rude and incompetent. You pay a higher price for rent for the "safety" but it seems the gates never work, and they don't have on-site security anymore and the LMPD moved out.
I've enjoyed living here so far, nothing negative so far. Once they higher more maintenance workers that should take care of the problem of maintenance requests taking a little long to get done (Only because they only have 2 staffed atm)
Awesome! Good place, neat outdoor spaces and nice atmosphere.
Wish there were more events for interaction, food and refreshments every now and then too.
While the facilities provided by the Retreat are wonderful, and the parking and location relative to campus impeccable, the community does a poor job maintaining its facilities (the gates are nearly always broken and the sidewalks littered with broken glass) and has rarely and reluctantly responded to emails describing issues I have experienced as a resident.
So far my experience with the retreat has been great. The environment and community is absolutely amazing and I am glad I was able to find a place like this.
Although The Retreat at Louisville is pleasant, there are some things that just need to be changed. It is often a mess particularly after parties and the roommate matching process is completely nonexistent.
Living at the Retreat has been a great experience. Being so close to campus is so great. You don't have very far to walk and it is a safe area.
It’s a great place to live while attending school, but maintenance can be slow to respond at times. Front office employees are very friendly
Its been good living here, everyone’s friendly in the office. My roommate are pretty cool barley see them which is pretty amazing. Thinking about renewing for 2020-2021
I love the huge beds and being able to walk to all my friends classes. The pool is nice and the retreat has a really good gym. I can workout go to the sauna then jump straight into the pool. The workers are very friendly as well.
I have only been living at The Retreat for a few months but I feel more comfortable here than the place I previously lived, and I lived there for 2 years!
My sink doesnt work and hasnt for a month. Idk what is going on tbh but some dude from the front desk came in and fixed our garbage disposal and i turned on the faucet and got sprayed by water. Idk bout u but ion wanna be more wet than im already gon be from this weather.
It’s great here. The community is clean. The staff is friendly. The apartments themselves are pretty nice compared to other nearby properties. The amenities are great too.
Living here has been amazing. The staff are super friendly and constantly trying to find ways to make living here fun and safe. I would recommend this place to anyone.
The staff is awful and doesn't know how to do their job. They lied to my face multiple times and told me that they never said what they had told me when I asked about something.
Amazing so far! Good houses, great pool area and very luxurious apartments! Love the neighborhood and how close it is to the campus. Great community!
I’ve only been here for a few months and my stay here has actually been pretty dope . There was a little confusion before about me sub leasing with someone but the people in the office were right on it and helped me get moved into a new unit
My three year experience has been enjoyable at the retreat. My favorite part about living here is all the things you have access to such as a pool and basketball court.
The cottages are super nice and not to far from campus for UofL students. I wish we had public parking for guests but other than that the Retreat has been a great place to live.
Living here at the Retreat at Louisville has been such a treat. The proximity to campus and the spacious bedrooms and common areas are so much nicer than on-campus housing!
Nice houses but my unit was dirty when I moved in. One of my packages has gone missing from the office and it's a bit of a walk to/from campus
I love the retreat. The community is amazing and all the amenities makes it worth while. The pools is great, the gym is always clean, and the sauna is amazing.
The retreat is very welcoming, they are very attentive if repairs are needed. The rooms are big and you have a lot of space for living rather than other dorms.
Nice community with houses of many different sizes. There is a bark park which is nice for those who have dogs. Big community pool and nice clubhouse facility with fitness center.
I really enjoy our house! We have a great time decorating it and there’s lots of space for all 5 roommates. I do wish we had less maintenance issues, however.
Just moved to the RETREAT and its awesome! Lived at Upointe before and you really can't compare it to the RETREAT. Her, you have so many things you can do. Chilling at the pool, playing volleyball with friends.
My experience here has been good for the most part. There are times where some things don't work or end up breaking and maintenance takes a while to get to you.
Our neighbors can be a bit loud sometimes, but the apartment complex is a great distance from campus! It takes a while for maintenance to fulfill a request, but the atmosphere here is friendly and pleasant.
My cottage was very clean when I moved in and everything worked. They made my transfer easy and smooth. I had a lot of questions and they got back to me very fast, which I appreciate.
The area is nice and close to campus. The stairs squeak a little when going up and down them, but besides that the apartment is really nice.
My resident experience has been great. This will be my third year living here and the retreat always has the things i need. They are always coming up with new ways to make the community great.
I love it here! I’m a new resident and I love everything about it, especially the housing setup & pool and workout inclusions. And the accommodations are great!
The people at The Retreat have been very helpful when it comes to the moving in process. All of my questions have been speedily answered every time.
I Love The Retreat! I’ve lived here for a few years and wouldn’t want to live anywhere’s else while at UofL. The staff at the office and all of the amenities are great!
Very safe and fun environment to live at. Very helpful front office staff. Great amenities and extra curricular activities. Also it’s a gated community
Love this place!! clean, very nice, staff is amazing. couldn’t ask for a better place to live than the retreat. 10/10 recommend this off campus student housing.
Love the retreat. Love the people, has always been a pleasure living there . If you were looking for high-quality living experience, especially as a university of Louisville student, then look no further.
Maintenance team needs to be more efficient and come sooner. Staff is nice in the office. Carpets should be replaced more frequently. Pool rules need to be lifted about bringing guests.
My experience has been pretty good living at the retreat, I love all the amenities it has, and I really enjoyed the style of house we have, we are very close to campus and I love living in the same areas on my friend.
The community is really inviting. The roommate process makes finding the perfect fit super easy and the transition even smoother. The amenities make sure there is always something to do.
Great location. Worried about secruity a little bit. The train is kind of annoying because I work third shift. It's close to campus and it's an easy walk.
I have not yet moved in, but so far the process has been super easy getting everything in order. The facilities and amenities that are offered by are amazing, and I can’t wait to move in next week!
It’s been a smooth process, just an expensive one! I have friends that live here and love it and have stayed for multiple years. Super excited to see how life’s will be at the retreat!
I love living at the retreat and am so excited to move back in for another year! It was such an easy decision to renew my lease. The cottages are so nice and spacious that seems like a luxury for any college student!
The Retreat at Louisville is a wonderful cold community and is so conveniently located to the University of Louisville campus. There are many great amenities and the staff are friendly.
The staff at The Retreat go above and beyond to help residents and maintenance is always fast to respond to requests. Overall this is a great place to live.
I have been in my cottage for 2 months now and things have been fine. Had to get toilet fixed twice and replace a washer. Other than that, all good!
The retreat is very assistive and is a safe and clean place to live. Overall, I am glad I have decided to liver here. I just wish the pool was available longer!
The best off-campus housing out of all the other communities. Tons of amenities and great support staffs. There are some improvement needed.
It has been nice and easy so far. I love the apartment and facilities. I enjoy my room and balcony. It has been easy to get ahold of help and pay rent, etc
Amazing place to live, with amazing amenities, people, and very close to campus. It truly is a home away from home because the cottage is set up as house style.
Living at the retreat has been such a great experience. This place is for sure the best place to live on campus and moving out will be very sad. It’s perfect for students with pets and has lots of amenities to enjoy!
I like it here. It kept very clean as well. I do think the time of responding back to emails from the staff could be better and quicker. Other than that I love everything.
I am really excited to live here. My experience of this place so far has been great the only problem is sometimes the trash gets a little scattered but I understand it’s a large campus to take care of
Great environment to live in with great people. I also love living in a pet friendly apartment and that there is plenty of outdoor space for not only residents but our furry friends as well.
The one problem I have had this past year was the thermostat and heat was subpar ,and I had to bundle up to just watch tv in my living room. These were also the months when my electricity bill was the highest. Overall though, I’ve had a positive experience
Trash valet services never seem to valet trash. But otherwise a wonderful, secure place to live. Lots of green grass and well maintained landscaping.
Although I did not live here last year I do go here almost every day. The retreat is very nice and includes a cloud of amenities. It is a great stuff up from the dorms and all of the stuff in the dorms. Although it is not on campus it is right off campus so it is very accessible.
I’ve lived at Cardtowne and university pointe apartments throughout my college experience and I have enjoyed staying at both so far. My friends and I are just really excited to move into a house so we chose the retreat for next semester.
Everyone in the office is very kind! The spaces are friendly and offer a lot that the competition just doesn’t offer. I would highly recommended everyone.
MY experience has been very good. I enjoy living here. It is good to live here. My bed i comfy and i like my house. The retreat is a good place to be.
I have enjoyed my experience, except the time that it takes for the retreat to fix their technical problems. for instance, I was charged a late fee but I had turned my rent in on time and it been an entire month and it still has not gotten fixed yet.
I love the safety and the environment. I just think that the unit still need some more improvements. And it would be very nice if there’s a nicer and easier way to pay the bills.
Our hockey team had a house in the retreat where everyone went to hang out. It was incredibledly nice inside. The pool was terrific and you couldnt get enough
Beautiful place to live, always feel safe and never really have to worry about anyone breaking into my house or apartment. Staff is very kind and patient
Whenever I have any issue with my unit I can always rely on the staff helping me out! I love the pool, dog park and community that the Retreat has here!
I have not moved into my apartment yet. I wish there was better communication over the summer to new renters. However, I can’t wait to move in!
Chelsea and Annie are great. You could not have made a better selection for a manager of the complex. Jennifer was a rude loser. The front gate was an issue repeatedly.
The apartments are nice and front desk people are always friendly and helpful. Maintenance is nice and gets things done at a reasonable amount of time.
I really enjoy living here. I feel safe within the gated community and all of the amenities are really nice. I also love having access to the bark park
I really enjoy living at the Retreat, I'm a big fan of all of the amenities and I love living near other UofL students. I couldn't be happier. I am also very happy about the Retreat getting rid of the tow truck.
It’s been a great experience living here! I’m glad I came to the retreat it’s a great community! The staff member are super nice and it’s a really safe place!
It’s very difficult to get in contact with mangers and the front desk workers can’t really answer my questions but other than that it’s a pretty decent place to live
I love living here. I have met new people that I have become best friends with. The pool is great and the yard space is huge and great for activities. Having a gated community makes me feel safe where I’m living.
The Retreat is a great place to live. It is within walking distance of all my classes at the University of Louisville. The staff are very helpful, a d there is 24/7 staff at the front desk so whenever I need something day or night I can give them a call.
Awesome place to live for a college student who wants a bit more privacy than a apartment complex feel. Also love the dog park here, it’s a really nice place for pets to play
The washers and dryers could be improved and updated. The gates you can walk through without a key most of the time and that’s not safe. The drive through gates also break all the time
Great staff! Moving from my old place to this one was a great choice! Management always available when I need them, wonderful area and other people in the community! Great space for us college kids.
The employees are friendly and the amenities are fantastic, but the property is often dirty with litter and dog feces. I have yet to be assigned a compatible roommate despite there being a mathing service in place. The proximity to campus and convenient parking are big sellers for me.
I’ve been at the retreat for 6 months and it’s been pretty good. There were a few things that needed to be fixed when I moved in, but the service team took care of them quickly.
I enjoy living here! It’s great to have all of our appliances there and each have our own individual bathrooms. Also, living so close to campus is very nice.
I loved my experience at the retreat. It’s a fun community with lots to do and a great way to connect with new people as well as get to know close friends better.
I had very high hopes coming in. As my time living here dwindles, the experience is getting worse and worse. Truly disappointed by the level of security, the "turn-over" times, forcing residents to comply with absolutely everything the Retreat wants (letting random people enter our cottages at anytime), and ruining the pool experience. I wish I would've chosen a different place to live. I will not be renewing my lease and will encourage others to do the same.
It was a great experience living at The Retreat, I enjoyed having my own room and bathroom. Being in a gate community made me feel safe and be able to have a gym, pool, study area, etc made me stay here even better.
Everything breaks and it takes weeks to months to be fixed, probably because it is impossible to actually reach anyone who works here or get a straight answer out of them. Don’t bother trying to contact them via email, they don’t answer. Each room in the house costs the same, but if the person living in the room with the balcony moves out early, they lock the bedroom and don’t allow any of the other roommates to enjoy the balcony that they PAY FOR.
Definitely the best college housing. These are not apartments but homey cottages. The buildings make the Retreat a home away from home. I love the pool, how pet friendly it is, and that it is a gated community. My only complaints are things break very often. The printer in the clubhouse never works, the pool has been closed for 2 weeks, and the car gates break all of the time. Other than those 3 things, I have no complaints.
My stay at the retreat has made my move from Florida worth it. I love living at the retreat because of the different community involvement and friendly office employees. The property always looks beautiful and I feel safe
My experience at the retreat so far has been a pleasant one! I have lived in my house for about 3 years now and I couldn’t see myself living anywhere else
Such a fun and home like place to live. The maintenance is always quick and the staff is super helpful! There are always new things to look forward too!
I love the retreat! It’s honestly the best place to live. The amenities are amazing. I use the gym every day and always go to the pool after.
Overall, the retreat has many resources and great things about it. The only thing u would complain about it the dirty carpets when you move in, but overall it’s a great place to stay.
For the most part good experience until there were bugs in my room and I had to take care of it. Then they decided to wait until a week basically until the company could come look at it.
It has been okay. Maintenance isn’t the fastest on repairs. Very noisy and trash is usually scattered in everyone’s yard. Trying to exit the facility is challenging too.
I have really liked living at the retreat. The amenities at the retreat like the gym qnd pool are my favorite part of living at the retreat.
Living at the retreat this past year has overall been a fantastic place to live but there were a few management issues throughout the year. There were great amenities and opportunities to get to know the staff.
I have had a good experience so far, but there are some parts of my experience to be lacking. I Feel maintanance takes forever to come and fix problems once we have submitted a report.
The location and amenities are nice. However, it it on the expensive end. I like the dog park and the pool and how close it is to campus. There needs to be more events.
Its nice living here. its close to campus and the apartments itself are nice. I love the amenities and so does my dog. I recommend living here
Love living here with my doggie! He loves to play with his friends at the dog park where there is plenty of room to run around and have fun!
The Retreat has great amenities and that’s why I think a lot of people live here. Also the cottage style houses is a great benefit. I think simplebills is a little goofy to be honest, do not like that website. Think the whole time they jack up rates.
I love living at the retreat due to the many amenities it has and the overall upkeep of the area. Only con is that I live on the 2nd floor and it sometimes gets super hot up there even though the 1st floor is cool, so it's a constant battle with the thermostat.
The experience has been pretty good for the most part the beginning was rough but now everything is great and i love it. My roommates are great!
The management team and staff are so nice, definitely made my stay here enjoyable and stress free . The only down side is they should try to pair students alike together
Community is clean and feels very safe. Plenty of amenities, and most are open for abundant hours. Sometimes they have community events for everyone.
The most home at home residence around this college town. Very friendly staff, and very convenient amenities are available all the time. It’s also very safe with 24/7 security!
Love the retreat! The amenities are great, and the staff is very attentive. The events held in the lodge are always so fun! Happy this is my home!
A very nice and calm place to live. The staff are very friendly and the complex is clean for the most part. Some people don’t clean up after pets. The apartments and amenities are very nice though.
If your looking for amazing staff, amenities and also just a great place to live, check out the retreat. Its literally the best living option for UofL students, with maintenance staff that are on call 24/7 (like you will have whatever breaks fixed in no time.
The Retreat is a great get away from the stresses of physical therapy school. I love the track and so does my dog! They even have dog parties at the pool when the weather is warm and they keep up the grounds nicely with nice landscaping and friendly service. I enjoyed it so much I’m signing another lease.
I think the retreat is great. It has some amazing houses and is an all around nice space, although there can be a lot of litter at times, it stays relatively clean.
The retreat has consistently been a good place to live over my 2 years and I really enjoy living in a cottage style house opposed to a traditional apartment
The Retreat has improved each year that I have lived here. They respond when they are available but it is sometimes challenging to get ahold of someone. The staff is always friendly and try to help as much as possible.
So far, so good. I'm glad I chose the Retreat as my place of living for sophomore year. The only troubles that make me want to move out is the security. Several of the gate doors don't shut completely. The gates that you drive up to don't shut both doors sometimes even shut at all. The bridge doors don't close and the lights don't always turn on in the morning. Safety that I was guaranteed and that the girls in the office bragged about when I signed my lease is proving to be a lie as my time continues.
Great place to live! Lots of nice amenities. I’m so glad I can take my dog to a park that is literally one minute from my house! By far the cleanest place on campus.
The amenities are nice but the gates break every other day so it takes forever to get in & out of the retreat. Looking forward to utilizing the pool this summer though
I feel like I’m secure within in the Retreat! I like the retreat office’s amenities and the whole clubhouse in general! The mail and packages are taken care of in a speedy and efficient manner!
I have had a great experience. Management was very easy to work with when I encountered issues with utilities billing. The maintenance manager is extremely friendly as well. The complex appears to take safety very important which I appreciate as well.
I have highly enjoyed living here at the Retreat. The staff are really friendly and compared to other housing options for students I really don’t think there is much better.
The retreat so far has been wonderful. The apartment is nice and the staff is wonderful. The gym is nice and the pool is great. The bridge makes going to a school a bit of a walk but it is fine.
Living at the retreat is an awesome experience. In terms of my experience socially, there’s no better place to live. It’s fun living in a community of all college students. The house itself is way more than I could have asked for as a college student as well. The only dock I have is the WiFi, the gates, and the house insulation.
My resident experience has been great! Friendly staff members and great amenities have made the experience of living in the retreat fantastic.
Great. Only complaints are quarterly inspections. They seem very intrusive. It’s weird having random men come into your apartment while you sleep/do whatever to look for whatever it is they’re looking for. It’s not it’s a dorm, I’m paying rent at an apartment so there shouldn’t be a need to invade my privacy.
Also the gates are broken down half the time and it’s just annoying.
Biggest complaint is the speed bumps. Even going over it at minimum speed my car bottoms out a lot. They’re just ruining a lot of peoples cars and should be taken away or replaced immediately before someone sues against the retreat because of it!
It was very ok. That train is hella annoying and so are the speed bumps. The actual home was nice though. It is also really expensive for not getting anything other than convenience
Living here is great! Most accommodations are very reliable. The only complaint I have is that maintenance takes a while to come fix things.
overall experience has been decent. Not very lenient with rent which is unfortunate coming from a different country and having to pay extra for being a few days late. House was also very messy when moving in and had to completely clean it myself.
My experience has been an enjoyable one thus far. The pool is a great resort for the summer. The basketball court and sauna are also very useful features.
Everything is very pleasant here. I think that sometimes the maintenance can be a little better in responding to our calls but overall I it’s comfy here and I think this Is the best way place to live on campus for sure. :)
I love the retreat! I’ve lived here for 2 years now and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. The grounds are kept clean, the pool is nice and the gym is better than the other apartment gyms near campus.
This has been a great experience. A safe fun inclusive community where my friends can have fun and enjoy college life. A great first taste to living on my own
Love living here! It feels like home away from home. I love that I have my own house. It is such a bonus that I can park right outside my house and not have a far walk to my car.
I love living here . safe, clean and close to campus. the pool is such a nice amenity to have during the summer. Having the gym so close is good too because it is less crowded then the university gym.
The are a few things that I like about the retreat. The fact that it is a gated community, access to a pool, and the trash pickup. I think the prices are high though and the fact that all of the gates don’t work consistently is extremely frustrating.
Overall, I am very satisfied with living at the Retreat. Their employees are very nice and are willing to assist you. They also have great deals.
I love all the accommodations the retreat has. They continue to find new ways to make our homes even better. They're always ready to help if there are any problems.
Love the retreat! The staff is so friendly and caring! Any issues are resolved almost immediately. Our apartment is perfect. Happy to live here!
The retreat is kept very clean and provides an excellent experience for all its residents. They are also very quick with communication about fixing in-house and around the community repairs. The only issue is parking is not as easy for guests, especially on weekends when the spots on Davies Ave fill quickly.
I love living here at the Retreat. My cottage is in the perfect location. It is right next tot he walking bridge and makes it fast and easy to walk to class. The Retreat really feels like a tight community because of all of the fun events that happen in the clubhouse!
I've really enjoyed my experience living in the Retreat at Louisville. The location is extremely convenient, with easy access to campus and downtown Louisville as well.
I have only been on for a few minutes but so far I like it. I didn’t know this existed. I’m excited to learn more about the system and what all it has to offer
Houses are very nice and the staff is very good, but units are dirty and damaged when we moved and I put it on my check sheet but still got fined for a missing window pane even though it wasn’t there when I moved in
I love living in the retreat. However, the maintenance could use some help. I have entered a few maintenance requests that go days without anyone coming to check on it
The retreat is amazing, the cottage is amazing too, but the parking rules are too strict. It is hard to have friends over when there are 20 tow trucks driving around.
I have really enjoyed living at The Retreat at Louisville for the past 2 years. I love the placement of my house and my roommates. Many of my teammates also love at the Retreat and they say they love it also!
I love living here. Having a house to live in during college is super awesome, especially with how much space you get. It is amazing having my own bedroom and bathroom. I already resigned my lease for next year!
Nothing to complain about so far. Already looking forward to renewing my lease when some good incentive comes out! Seriously the best off-campus housing option for those that want a good location, free parking, and a pool.
I have loved living at the retreat this year. The staff seems to care a lot about the residents and the garbage pick-up service is great! Only problem I've had is with parking. I have often found it hard to find a parking space close to my house later in the day. I think that towing services need to be enforced more in order to avoid crowding of the parking lot.
I have enjoyed living at the Retreat but my neighbors are always loud and will put things in my trash bin outside and I get a warning. Additionally, both walking gates next to my house are chained shut so I have to take a longer route to get inside.
It was amazing. I moved out now I want to move back. The ammenities are something I need everyday of my life. I cannot live without The Retreat!!!
So nice! I love living in this community! I like how they are houses and not typical apartment set ups with only one floor! I feel safe going to class and coming back to class!
I love living at the Retreat but there are a few things I wish that they’d change. Firstly the gate issue down at the far gate on Davies Ave. is closed a lot and I live right next to it so it’s a pain to have to drive all the way to the front just to go all the way to the back to my house. Other than that my only other issue is inspections because you never know when it’s going to happen because they emailed us and it took about a month until it actually happened. Other than that I love it here.
the retreat is pretty cool, lots of amenities, close to campus, nice housing. but how are they going to charge us $600 a month and then close the davies gate every weekend🤔
Overall the retreat is a great community. The staff is very accommodating and nice. The facilities are also very nice. Overall great place to live!
I absoloutrly love living at the retreat! Anytime anything goes wrong the retreat is so quick in fixing the problem and finding the best solution!
They do a great job. wish garbage guy would pickup things on weekends more consistently. Dog park is cool, may need more additions (maybe toys). That is all
My experience moving in has been successful overall. Jennifer was really helpful in our move in experience in answering all of our questions and concerns.
Besides the expense, I’ve never had a complaint!!! The front office is very willing to help, very easy to get a hold of, & love their residents!
So far I’ve been living here since the beginning of August and i love it. I feel like Rent is super expensive for no reason at all but i still love living here.
it has been great! I love the retreat I am a sophomore and it is definitely an upgrade from my old dorm. I feel safe at the retreat and love the neighborhood.
I love living at the retreat. There are so many amazing options that you can’t find anywhere else. The workout facility is my favorite. It’s nicest facility and equipment I’ve ever seen at an apartment complex. The houses are so nice and so cozy and spacious.
Great, safe place to live! It’s so nice to be living in such a friendly neighborhood with great staff. Everyone is so helpful with any questions I have
I've had a good experience at the Retreat so far, the only problem I've had is sometimes it takes a long time for maintenance work to get done.
I love living in this community, it is a very good environment. It has easy access to college students, plus you have a pool and a gym near you, so you always have something to do.
It’s great! I love living off campus but still surrounded by college students. Our house is nice, we had a few mishaps but we are getting them fixed. All in all it’s a great atmosphere
I love living here. My favorite part is the amenities like the gym and the pool. I will definetely extend my lease the next year. Keep it up!
So far living at the retreat has been great. There are minor annoying maintenance issues here and there and I really wish the bedrooms had more storage, but overall it's a nice apartment complex.
Move in process was smooth and easy and when we have problems in our house, maintinence comes right away to fix it! Sometimes I park really far from my house which can be kind of inconvenient, but for the most part my retreat experience has been awesome!
The retreat is a great place to live and work. I honestly wouldn’t want to live in any other community. It’s also close to campus which is nice!
The Retreat is awesome! I love the sense of community! The staff is friendly and always willing to help. Yes, it is a little overpriced but everything is very nice. 10/10 would recommend
I love living in these cottages! the only thing I don’t like is how high the electricity can get. I feel like it shouldn’t be so expensive, I have to have my mac and phone charging and my light on and I feel like that alone, runs me so much.
I love living at the retreat! It has all the accommodations for a comfortable living space and is always preparing new ideas for the residents!
It is a great place to live, it is close to campus, has a nice pool, has a decent gym. My only complaint is noise. I wish the walls were thicker.
Move in had some issues but otherwise it’s been great. Other than neighbors having lots of parties and no parking being available inside the gates when they do
The retreat really cares about their residents! I love how they have different themed events and such. It makes living here really fun! love the retreat!
I have really loved living here so far. The Retreat has great amenities and has a great proximity to campus. And, when I am in my room I feel like I am not sharing with roommates because it is so closed off. I made a great choice for my first apartment.
When I first moved into my cottage, the unit was not cleaned after the other students moved out, they left so much stuff behind, and a lot of things were broke (microwave handle, blinds, lights, etc) Our whole unit had fleas, I got bit up and down my legs, and in my specific room it smelled like cat pee. I had to live in one of the Retreat's "storage units" for about a week and my other roommates followed shortly about 2-3 days later. They did end up giving us all new mattresses, I specifically got new carpet in my room, and we each got $200 gift card for our troubles. Although the problem was fixed, it took them forever and the marks/bites from the fleas are still on my legs. My roommates & I felt like all of the inconviences could have been prevented if they would have took steps to clean units thoroughly for the next residents moving in.
Cottage was not clean and infested with fleas when we arrived. Our problem was rewarded as if it was nonexistent not a big deal. Poor service
My experience at the retreat has been great. The community as well as all the people living in it are awesome. Houses are pretty nice and location is good.
My experience has been somewhat good so far. But, as soon as I arrived at the house, I noticed some things that need fixing. Otherwise, it has been a good experience thus far.
I love living at The Retreat. It is the perfect place for not only me but for my dog Cooper too. We love the apartment size and the community grounds. Would not want to live anywhere else.
I am so excited to move in but I had to call every day for almost two weeks before I could get the move in letter sent to me. Once I got ahold of the proper person it all worked out but it was for sure a process!
I love my room, my closet is huge, and I have my own bathroom! It’s awesome having a sauna and a 24 hour gym. Pretty good college place to live
I think it’s a great place to live at as a student. Safe neighborhood, close to school, and provides everything for students. I think many students should consider living here.
The houses and environment are nice! It’s good to live so close to campus while technically being off of it! The amenities that are offered are nice!
I don’t live there yet but so far I have been impressed. The only bad thing I can say is that they were really late on giving out housing assignments.
The staff is very nice and accommodating. The place is super nice and always takes the time to answer ur questions. It is a great place to stay.
The clubhouse has such friendly and helpful staff. The facilities around the community are always clean. My favorite thing is that the community added a trash valet service to make our experience even better
Well let me tell you, I am about to start my fourth year living here and I really do like it. I mean I would of not signed another year! Everybody is so helpful and I always get what I deserve as a residence and more. I feel as if this is my little community family away from my home town. So appreciative of all the staff and wonderful memories I have been able to create here and looking forward to many more.
I have not lived in the retreat yet, but I will be this year. So far my experience with the apartment community has been awesome! I cannot wait to live there this coming year.
I forgot the rest of this song but the retreat was pretty darn fun. They hated my house and I at first but I think we’re a few of the prized residents now.
Amazing, fun environment to live in as a college student. All the amenities are super nice and kept clean. Overall, a nice community to be a part of!!!
Ive had a delightful time during my stay. I was hesitant to like it at first, but after becoming friends with the staff I have to say that the Retreat is a good spot.
Beautiful and friendly community. Amazing, clean, nice, and big apartments. Wonderful staff. Feel at home at the retreat at Louisville and will be living here until I graduate!
Living here has been very nice, we love it. In my opinion it is the best place on campus to live at. It is also a short walk to campus (8-12 minutes).
The property is very nice and the amnenities are top notch. The staff is nice and professionally and they try their best to keep up with the unruly college students.
I think that the retreat at Louisville is great. It is super close to campus to make walking to campus totally doable rather than driving to campus and having to pay for parking.
Rooms are not well insulted so you can hear everything. Water does not get very hot and there is no way to fix it. Pool and fitness center are nice amenities.
My experience at The Retreat has been good overall. The community is well maintained and the staff is nice. Every community has its pros and cons, but I think The Retreat is nice.
Amazing staff, making the experience perfect. They gave great, detailed tours and everyone showed interest in me staying there. Everything was so easy!
Overall the experience is pretty good. I don't like how the pool is set up with the gates being closed especially by the volleyball court if the ball goes over the fence you have to walk all the way to the front to go out and around to get it.
The Retreat has been a wonderful experience. The staff in the office are all super nice and want to make your stay as enjoyable as it can be.
The experience I have had at the retreat has been amazing and I have thoroughly enjoyed staying there and the environment that I have been living in
Great place for my nephew to live while he is in college. The sense of community between residents is great and i know that he will be safe living here
I haven’t moved in to the Retreat yet but am very excited for this school year. Every staff member that I’ve come in contact with through my leasing process was great
I really enjoyed my time living at the Retreat at Louisville. The staff were all so kind and willing to help with any issues, no matter how minor, that came up within a timely manner and the feeling of community within the residents was very nice.
I really enjoy living at the retreat! Is so close to school which makes it really easy to walk to. Also I love the updated features they offer!
Very detailed, clearly care about the residents here! There have been many incidents where something went wrong and they showed passion and care to make sure everything turned out ok.
I love the retreat! The pool is so relaxing, the staff is amazing and the maintenance is always on top of anything that needs to Ben fixed. I also love the garbage collection every day!
I love the Retreat. I knew from the summer of 2016 that I would want to live there if the time came for me to live in Louisville. The proximity to campus, amenities, the quality of the housing and atmosphere are all excellent. My house came furnished and my the people who work in the office are all extremely pleasant.
It’s a very nice place to live. The only issues I have is sometimes maintenance is slow. Also the walls are a little thin and it’s loud by the pool in the summer but it’s not really a big deal.
I really like it in here. The staff is really great and always willing to help. I love the amenities, the one I like the most is the pool...
Overall has been a pleasant experience. Great parking and appearance. Love the security factor and the new trash system. The only problem I've had is with maintenance, but that was resolved after meetings with the office staff.
Throughout my time here at the Retreat I have not had any complaints. The maintenance comes fast and the staff have always been willing to work with me!
Amazing community and living areas along with wonderful amenities. Great parking availability and staff makes sure that everyone has what they need.
Living here is awesome. The staff was super helpful when it came to signing my lease and it was super easy. Everything about the retreat feels like home!
Great experience. Love living here. The only thing I would like to have change is on property maintenance. My door had died and I wanted over an hour for maintenance to show.
The Retreat is such a good place to live. the cottages are beautiful and spacious, my dog enjoys it here too. the staff are all so helpful here
great place, friendly people. they always greet you and make sure you don’t have any questions left before you leave. They help you find the best fit for you and your happiness is their 1st priority
Good place to live and has awesome amenities. The staff is really nice and anytime there was a maintance problem it was fixed the next day. I really liked it here and would reccomend to others.
As a community of college students, the Retreat does an exceptional job at making a fantastic living experience. Top of the line employees, top of the line facilities, and overall great distance from campus with the included walking bridge to get to campus. I love it.
I have been very impressed with the quality of my living experience at The Retreat. The staff is friends and the amenities are reliable and extremely useful.
I have lived at the retreat for approximately 1 year and I have been told by the security team that i was trespassing and was going to be arrested and when i had two guests over on a saturday that i was violating my lease. (all of this is being stated by the security team)
The retreat is a great place to live. I was weary about the location but have ended up loving the distance from campus. I think the facilities are amazing and the residents are treated so nicely here!
The atmosphere is very good. Everytime is very friendly and they want the best for you. They are very accommodating and care very much about
I love the retreat, the lay out of the house is prefect, it's so nice to have your own living space. All of the amenities are great as well.
I’m not living there yet, but I’ve hung out there with friends. The rooms are awesome! Everybody seems so happy. Also the pool area is super nice and cool.
I’ve been at the Retreat since August 12th 2015 and I recently resigned until July 2019 and can say without a doubt it has been a great experience for me. Some things I wish the Retreat didn’t have are the speed bumps and gate operational issues. However, everything else Alfred my opinion to a more positive note. Any issues I have, they are handled immediately and I love the amenities that are offered as well.
The Retreat is such a fun environment to live in and it has many nice amenities ! The location is perfect for the walk to campus and the cottages are well kept.
I really love living here! It’s so nice having my own room, bathroom, and giant closet. The houses are nice, it’s a 5 minutes walk to campus, and I’m counting the minutes until the pool opens for the summer!
The retreat staff has always been so helpful and responds to emails very efficiently. The retreat is a great place to live as a UofL student.
The Retreat has an excellent staff, and provides all the necessary ammenities to help jump start a life in the Louisville area as a young adult.
The Retreat at Louisville has all of the amenities a college student could ask for. From a pool, to a gym, a basketball court, and a golf simulator, there are even luxuries I never knew I’d enjoy in a collegiate housing community!
The maintenance crew is great. Always prompt and polite service by a crew that is competent and gets the job done. Chelsie is also great, the personality of the community. Despite their youth, neighbors are not a problem. . . management does a nice job of keeping things under control.
I feel so connected to my community at The Retreat. The staff in the office are always helpful and willing to be of any assistance. I love the 24 hour access to the gym.
I am really looking forward to living at the retreat at the University of Louisville because of all of the great amenities that they have to offer
I absolutely love the retreat! I transferred from Rutgers and had that worst experience with housing, my land lady was terrible and charges ridiculous fees and even spent my security deposit without cause. The retreat is college living heaven, I recommend my friends specifically only apply to schools that retreat caters to.
Great staff with helpful and positive attitudes. Clean living environment with a quick and efficient maintenance staff. Houses and rooms are comfortable with many amenities. Love the gym, basketball court, and comfortable pool area.
I love it here and so do all of my roommates. We have the six bedroom house and it is massive. The front test people are great and work orders get resolved very quickly!
Living here has been a great addition to my college career as well as my social life. The staff are easy to work with and maintenance is quick. Great atmosphere and amenities!
everyone at the retreat is extremely friendly and very helpful. the homes are clean and the outside landscape always looks up to par. overall it is a great place to live
Has been a great experience. The cottages are very spacious and very clean. The pool and outdoor activities are great for the summer time as well.
I love living here. Having my own room and bathroom is great. Having a common area and full kitchen makes is fun to live here as well. I also feel rather safe and it doesn’t take long to get to campus.
The attention to detail and care the staff puts in is truly remarkable. Plus the facilities always stay top notch. Definitely the best bang for your buck around the University
Overall, my experience at the Retreat has been above average to say the least. The amenities that are offered are not seen anywhere else around here and also at other colleges. The house is a little more fragile than expected though.
I live in cardinal Towne and it is brutal. Cannot wait to live in the retreat again. I lived there last year and i really liked it. the amenities especially.
This is the best place to live here at Louisville. It has the best staff and the best amenities. It is also very secure for the students to be around at any hour.
Like the overall atmosphere but its really expensive, and people are not that quick to assess a problem when you have one. I wish that I would have listened to people before I moved in.
Excellent place. Very friendly staff. Always responsive. Great service. Excellent facilities. Gym needs to be upgraded to have some more equipment
Mohammed Faisal A.
I love living here. They care about myself and even my cat on a personal level. Whenever I have a problem they do whatever they can to fix it
The retreat is an awesome place to live, great houses with nice details, great amenities, and an all around great community. I love that it’s so animal friendly
I love living at the retreat! The only problem I've had is that they are slow on responding to things. However, once they hear about a problem, they get it fixed in a timely manner.
The retreat is great! There is easy access to school and it gives you a great sense of being home. It is a great place to be all around the year but an even greater time in the summer!
I enjoy living in the retreat because of its proximity to campus as well as my friends. I really like the clubhouse area and I definitely utilize the gym as well as the sauna almost every day
Slow with some things, but they always address concerns. Good amenities and nice houses. The location is great and feels safe. It's a good deal overall.
I love the environment here! Everyone on staff is always super helpful and always willing to help! Love living here and all the amenities they have
I have been living in The Retreat since August 2017 and it has been a wonderful experience. It is a nice, beautiful place full of life. Totally worth it.
The community around our house is nice other then the noise once in a while is loud. Love the neighborhood and all the amenities around the complex
awesome customer service! They answered all my questions and a timely manner and were always very friendly! The desk workers are awesome thanks!
I really like the community! The amenities are nice and I can use them whenever I want for the most part. Also the staff is great and very personable with each renter which I like.
Maintenance requests and questions are answered and filled in a timely manner. Provides a lot of ammentaties. However, the rent is pretty high.
The retreat is a great place to live. The study rooms and gym at the office are wonderful. The staff always get things done in a timely manner. Wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.
The Retreat has felt a lot like a home away from home and I've really enjoyed it. It's really nice to be close to friends spend my time in college in a nice place.
I really liked my visit to the retreat and how spacious the 3 bed 3.5 bath felt. I love all of the amenities that it has and cant wait to move in next semester with my friends! Going to be so much fun.
The house is very well kept and I feel safe and comfortable at all times. Coming from a dorm, the pricing is good too because unlike what I expected it is much cheaper.
Excellent services, excellent community, excellent customer service! I love the Retreat and all that comes with it. From the pool, to the study lounge, to the gym, to the walking trail, I love it all!
Love how homey the area is and I always feel safe. When I moved in it was clean and ready to move In. Love the corporation from the staff and helpfulness of them.
Overall the provide great customer service. When you call the phone never goes unanswered and the people who answer are extremely helpful!!!
i love the retreat and everything it offers. love the residence and the staff there as well. it’s worrh the money and i love how homey it feels
So far, the people at the Retreat have been a delight to work with! They make everything easy, and have emailed back promptly. Very excited with my choice to live here next year!
The Retreat at Louisville has great services and is super close to campus and in a good location close to other places. Overall the living experience is great!
The retreat's been pretty great so far, with great people all around. The maintenance and other staff have been good so far and the rooms are great.
I've had a great experience so far and no huge complaints! I can't wait to live here next year as well! The maintenance team is very quick and nice. Paying bills and contacting help is easy.
The Retreat is the greatest place on earth. 10/10 recommended. I would live here for the rest of my life I could. The houses and community are fantastic.
I like the amenities that come with living at the retreat. The pool is especially nice in the summer time. But there are a lot of things I don't like. The gates are always broken and the Davies gate is closed on the weekends which does not prevent anyone from entering, just makes it inconvenient for residents. There is never parking next to my house because people park inside the gate without passes and do not get towed. The speed bumps are ridiculous and only mess up the suspension on my car; they should have never been put inside the community, especially not with the height that they are. Also the speed bumps on manor park drive are also obscenely high. I avoid them at all cost to save my car, and have not used manor park drive since they have been put in.
Cottages are very nice and in great condition. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Maintenance has also been very helpful in fixing our needs.
Very friendly staff— they always take care of me! Nice student housing, competitive pricing. This is a very dog friendly community— they even have a pool party for the pups!
The property is really nice, way nicer that what college kids need. The CAs are all friendly. The police officers that live here are really nice as well. One of them has a really cute dog he is always walking.
The houses are alright but the maintenance is slow on fixing your requests so you have to call for them to do it. Also the walls are super thin and very loud
my resident experience has been very good so far. the staff are all very helpful and willing to assist in any way needed. i have lived here for two years now, and i just renewed my lease to stay for a third. overall, a very nice place to live.
Respectful place to live. clean housing and a very open are to do many activities and interact with other residents. Great time all year round with indoor basketball and great for summer with outdoor pool.
Its like living at house off campus but better. Because you walk over the bridge your on campus and you don't have to walk from a super far distance. Also, you can park right in front of your cottage and never have to worry about getting towed or parking tickets! It doesn't get better than that!
Absolutely love the retreat and my location is perfect. Being able to go to the gym anytime I want and go to the pool in the summer is a luxury
living at the retreat has been good. i like thats it is gated because it makes me feel much safer than if it were open to the outside. It is also very clean and quiet.
The community is great, staff is mostly nice, but the fact that we can not have guest cars allowed without a parking pass is very inconvenient.
The retreat is such a great place to live! It's awesome having pets around and living in such nice cottages. The staff is wonderful and extremely helpful!
Great place for me and my dog. Love the staff and love the amenities. Wish it was cheaper and wish they would put a drain in behind my house since it floods anytime there is a slight rain.
Good location for walking to campus. The houses are pretty nice and updated and so are all the amenities. Staff is very friendly when needed.
The staff is excellent and always willing to help. The rooms/ houses are much homier than any other place on campus. Very close to the bridge for easy campus access.
I absolutely love it here. It has became a great home. I am so happy that I live here at this great environment 😊 it’s very clean, good parking at the right hours, very spacious, and just feels like home!
I love living at the Retreat. The amenities, staff, and complexes are exactly what I was looking for. This is my second year living here and I love it.
The walls are really thin so I hear everything, even the trains and planes. Great community with a lot of nice people and a very friendly staff.
Love this place!!! Soooo dog friendly and nothing’s more important than my little pooch. We needed somewhere fast, affordable, and livable and the retreat had it all
Beautiful area with a very helpful and friendly staff! I feel very safe as a resident and that was one thing that was very important to me. I would definitely recommend
I like the 24/7 services like the gym and the free printing. Having parking available is great because that'd be expensive otherwise. The staff is friendly and helpful.
The community is calm during the week and respectively festive during the weekends, making it a great atmosphere. Lots of people to meet over the next year.
I love living at the Retreat! The amenities that are offered are incredible and create a positive living envinronment. I have lived there for three years!
The retreat is a great community to live in and exceeds a lot of college living expectations. The only improvement I would make is parking. I think residents should get a guaranteed parking spot
The amenities and people here are pretty good. The houses are poorly built and maintenance has issues resolving issues. There are common problems in most cottages.
I've loved living here so far. Our house feels very homey, the gated community feels very safe. The only complaint I have are the toilets throughout our house and the iffyness of the front gate letting guests in that seems to only work half the time
We hands down have the best property. The amenities to the property staff and the individual houses are so different from all the others! ❤️
Everything is great so far. I love the free coffee in the lodge. One thing that could be improved however, is the lighting in the lodge, especially in the study room with the white board walls. During exams, it is difficult to study there in the dark because the lighting is so dim.
I wish the rent was a bit cheaper. Especially if I want to stay here for more than this year. I would like to stay all 5 years, but the rent is very expensive when comparing it to other optuons
I have had an overall wonderful experience with the retreat. Move in was smooth and simple and I've never had reservations contacting the staff for help with anything, as they are all so willing to do the best that they can to accommodate you.
Everyone is amazing and always helping! Makes it a lot easier to move in:)! Also s wonderful place to make friends and get to know other college students !
My experience at the retreat is amazing. The staff is great and really helped me through my move in. Whenever I have a question, they are super helpful and always have an answer. The cottages are super nice and spacious. I do not have one complaint about the retreat. I would recommend everyone here!
The speed bumbs everywhere are cumbersome and it is very exspensive to live here. The rooms and the amenities are nice but $650 for a bed and a bathroom is a little high.
the retreat is great!! I have had a great experience. A couple weeks ago my bathtub and my roommates overflowed out of nowhere while I was at class. My roommate was there and notified maintenance. My dog was in the bathroom at the time. The maintenance man came immediately, put my dog in his cage, and took care of the bathroom before I was even home!
Nice place with great amenities and pet friendly. Only things I don't like is that only some amenities are 24hr and you aren't allowed to own your own grill but the ones they offer to use can't be accessed due to office hours
My experience at the retreat has been a very good one. This will be my third and final year of me living here and through all 3 years I have been very pleased with the living experience and would recommend it to anyone.
Community and staff are great. The amenities are always clean and cottages are a warm and welcoming place to come home to. I would 10/10 recommend living here.
The staff and people in the community are awesome! I love how it is a pet friendly community, and how they really involve their residents in things.
This is a great community. I love being around all of my friends and have the amenities that are available. It is especially fun in the summer.
Nice, safe place to live close to campus. Great amenities and the staff is always eager to help. Cottage wasn’t in great condition when I moved in, but nothing not fixable.
I enjoy living at the Retreat! It is a great place to live, and very close to campus, making it easy to get back and forth from home to school. I also really like the work out center, it's small and not overwhelming.
There have been some issues where parties have gone on out of hand. Several times outside of my propertyit took some time to settle down. There are also a lot of people who tailgate behind you at the gates. The property itself is quite nice and convenient in relation to campus.
Love living at the retreat! The cottages are so much easier than living in an apartment where you have to go up a few stories. My only issue is that maintenance is a little slow getting to my bathroom.
I love mostly everything about the retreat at Louisville. I like the convenience of the parking and the amenities. I love the superset community feel.

So far the experience has been absolutely amazing. I love getting to know all the residents here along with the fantastic staff. The cottages are so great!
I haven't had many problems with the retreat so far. And whenever I have had a problem they have been extremely user friendly and helpful and efficient with fixing my problems.
Great community, safe place to live, and luxurious cottages. Staff is extremely friendly. Are quick to help you with any problems that you may have.
Absolutely Love the Retreat! It is a great community and feels just like home! There is always parking and it is very safe. Is also not very far from campus!
Friendly staff and really nice amenities. All common areas are extremely clean, and everything is well kept. Maintenance does a great job at keeping everything working and up to date.
I love the retreat at louisville! My houseis amazing and all the office staff are so friendly and helpful. Cant wait to live here for the next two years!!
Love living at the retreat! Only complaint is if its after hours there's no way to get your guests a parking pass. Also the security at night need to monitor for parties better.
The retreat employees are really nice, and our house is nice. We're getting noise complaints without trying to be very loud which sucks. But it's nice having so many of my friends all over the Retreat.
The retreat has great amenities: a nice pool, gym, study area, and a huge open grass area where your pets can run and play. I think it's the nicest place you can live on campus.
The retreat is a good place to live. But the only problems are some of the gates not working at all times, and some of the lease violations.
I always have a great experience not only with the staff but the residents as well. The Retreat of Louisville is very well put together and in my opinion is the number one place to live when it comes to living near UofL. Great job to all whom have made this place what it is.
I love this place I can't wait to call home. Surround by all kinds of people around your age and go to some of the sames schools might even have someone close by that you have class with it's just overall the best
Great neighborhood to live in. There have been occasional problems, but the staff has always been there to help me solve any issues that might come up.
The Retreat is quick to settle issues and I love living here! Such a cool place. I like it so much I'm going on my 3rd year. I will definitely reccommend for others.
The retreat is extremely nice and a beautiful place to live. It is a little bit pricey, but you get all of your moneys worth thanks to all of the amenities and service from the staff and on-sight officers. The most frustrating part of living here is dealing with the poorly engineered gates, and the newly inserted speed bumps on the way in.
I really enjoy living at the retreat! The only issues I have are with the annoying speed bumps in the front, which my car is unable to drive over at any speed, although I realize that is not the doing of the retreat itself.
So far you've been great, but I have yet to move in! So, I'll update in the future! I've gotten a free yeti on the way and cash money's cash in rewards, so it's good.
Great. Can't wait to move in. Love the space. Great place to live. Can't wait to swim at the pool. I'm going to live in a 5-5 and I'm really excited.
I love your app! It's a great way to earn extra money to spend at your favorite store or restaurant. It's not hard to earn points either so that's nice.
Awesome complex and houses and amenities are top notch. Only issue I have had before is that maintenance is sometimes slow to respond to issues.
I love living in the Retreat, I have been a resident for two years and will continue my residency into the 2018 year. I have seen it go through shifts and transformations. I am pleasantly happy with the way things are right now!
This place is a great place to live. They have everything you need and will work with you when you have a problem such as maintenance or roommates.
I already like it here. Everyone at the front desk seems friendly and their wiling to do whatever they need to do to make you happy. Recommend!
I love the retreat. It is so cool to live with my best friends and have my own room and bathroom. All of the amenities are just a bonus. So convenient.
I have not yet moved in, but while going through this tough time trying to find a place to live, The Retreat has been very helpful in aiding me in the process of living on campus.
I've always liked the retreat and looked forward so much to living there after visiting it a couple of times. I really look forward to being close to my friends and having a great time.
Pretty good! Maintenance can be slow. Rentnis pretty expensive, but the gym is a great perk as well as the pool. Sometimes wifi is slow but a lot more advertising
The retreat is a great place to live. I love to be able to lay by the pool and play volleyball. I love the cottage I live in and love being around my friends.
My apartment is in all honesty has to be one of the best places I've lived so far in my life. The maintenance is top notch. Anything you need is always within reach.
The retreat is doing a decent job. It has been a pleasure to live here and I only have a few complaints. First, the gates need to be fixed. They are down way too often.
Amenities are nice and it's close to campus! Response times to maintenance requests are fast, which I really appreciate. I would recommend living here.
I love how safe and secure I feel living in The Retreat. I feel it's the nicest living accommodations around campus and love the amount of space that I have in my home.
They have been security problems and the new speed bumps are more damage then help. they are not visible at night and there is no sign signaling that they are there.
Everything is pretty great at the retreat. I love the pool, the coffee in the morning, the sauna and the 24 hour gym!!! I hate the speed bumps that were put in. They are tearing up my car and have got to go!!
the retreat is awesome! i mean honestly, an 8x8 foot closet? AND your own bathroom? is this college or the hamptons!? live life lavish my friends
I think the retreat is doing great. It gives me the amenities I love! I feel like I am living in a home! The staff is also great. They help you with anything you need.
Love our cottage - cozy, good layout. Many good community amenities - workout room, pool, grills, computers and printer. Staff is awesome! Security, gates, parking could all use some improvement. Overall, we're glad we live here.
Chelsey has been a tremendous help with the leasing process! I am from Southern California and moving to Louisville was difficult, but with the friendly staff and easy online application, it was made very easy to for me.
The tour I had at the retreat was a great experience! The tour guide man gave adequate answers to al questions and when I left the tour I had all of my questions answered
The facilities and rooms are absolutely awesome.
The people at the front desk are 109% comprehensive and helpful.
Absolutely worth the price.
Too many rules and restrictions set on us. Gates never work. Dumpsters are too far away from certain parts. Things break all the time. Inspections are annoying
